From Judy:

"My love of sewing started with my grandmother on her treadle machine. I made my clothes and things for school. In school, I took Home Economics and also took clothing in 4H. My interest in sewing then led me to take two years of training at Hedmark's School of Fashion Design in Fort Wayne. After graduation I was married and sewed for my four children and myself. When the children entered school I started a sewing school in my home called the Sewing Basket. Following that, I worked at my brother and sister-in-law's fabric and sewing store in Albion.

In 1991 we moved to Kentucky where I taught sewing at the Frankfort Sewing Center for several years. Since returning to Indiana I have been doing sewing class at the Apple Tree Center, a mission of our church. When Augusta Hills Learning Recreation and Community Center opened, it provided me an opportunity to offer free sewing classes."
